Caring for your Bennington Metal Furniture

Metal Work

Wipe occasionally with a damp cloth, this should remove dust and marks.
For stubborn marks, wipe over with soapy water. Buff to obtain the original lustre.

Upholstery

We recommend regular vacuuming or brushing with a soft nylon brush to remove any surface grit or dust. Regular turning of the cushions helps prolong the life of covers and reduces the need for cleaning. If further cleaning is deemed necessary, we would recommend dry cleaning in situ by a specialist cleaning agency. We recommend the complete loose cover of the suite be cleaned at the same time to ensure colour balance remains consistent.

Glass

All glass provided is toughened. Like normal glass, toughened glass can scratch and the edges can chip, but it is four to five times stronger than normal glass. We recommend that soft cloths be laid under plates etc to avoid scratches.
Clean with a glass cleaner and soft cloth.

Granite

Observation of a few simple rules will help to maintain the visual appearance of the granite surface and promote its’ longevity.

1. Grit, particles from building operations and other detritus should be brushed off the surface or removed with a vacuum cleaner. Washing with dirty wet rags just forms an abrasive ‘soup’ which could be detrimental to the surface.

2. Local beverage spillages should be quickly mopped up using a clean cloth, dampened to remove sticky patches. Frequent washing with copious amounts of water is not recommended.

3. To maintain the shine and remove water marks left by wiping cloths, occasional polishing with ‘stone cream’, or similar, on the dry granite surface is a good practice of adopt.

4. Over time, if there is a build up of deposits on the granite, the recommended process is as follows (paying attention to product manufacturers instructions):

- Clean the surface using Pool Universal or similar

- Re-seal with Quasar marble/granite sealer, removing any remaining residue after drying.

- Re-polishing, initially with Pulsar polish and maintain using stone cream as before described.
